There’s been a development in Spurs’ search for an Ange Postecoglou replacement.
Spurs have endured a hugely underwhelming campaign in the Premier League, losing 16 top-flight matches and a total of 20 in all competitions, which is pretty inexcusable for a ‘big six’ side, even when taking their plethora of injuries into account.
If they fail to win the Europa League, this will be Tottenham’s 17th year without a piece of major silverware, and supporters are understandably very frustrated over the club’s lack of on-field success since ENIC’s takeover.

ENIC and Levy’s running of the club is attracting consistent protests from the fanbase, with there being a common belief that Spurs simply haven’t done enough in terms of player recruitment or investment into the squad.
Levy fired back at these accusations, drawing attention to Tottenham’s £700 million net spend since 2019 in a recent statement, which also read that the north Londoners have to spend within their means.
“Levy’s statement was incredibly disappointing,” said pundit John Wenham to Tottenham News after Levy’s message.
“He acknowledged that the club make lots of money from all of these third-party events, but at the end of the day, if you’re not going to push us on, what is the point?
“Excuses are continually made, the club admit they make all this money, but times are still going to be hard, and we need to spend sensibly. It is just outdated, hollow words.”
Postecoglou could be sacked by Tottenham after just two seasons, bringing yet another potential managerial change, but large sections of supporters are wondering what will really change with the current ownership.
Tensions are boiling over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium right now, but Levy has since moved to make what is seen as a great appointment, in an attempt to turn the tide.
Daniel Levy appoints Vinai Venkatesham in “major coup” for Tottenham
In an official announcement this week, it has been confirmed that Tottenham have hired former Arsenal chief Vinai Venkatesham as their new CEO.
The 44-year-old departed Spurs’ arch-rivals following the end of 2023/24 after 14 years, where he occupied various roles – including Managing Director, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Global Partnerships.
Venkatesham is seen as a “major coup” for Tottenham, not to mention a “shock move” considering his ties with Arsenal (Simon Collings), with Standard Sport reporter Ross Lydal branding the hire a “dramatic boardroom shake-up” which now “raises questions” about Levy’s influence.
This move apparently signals “major changes” in the running of Tottenham, and Venkatesham’s CEO role is said to be a newly created one. The British-Indian will commence this role in the summer, and it will be very intriguing to see how Spurs function from then onwards.
