Manchester City’s desperate winless run continued against Liverpool on Sunday and they will hunt for their first win in eight games at home to Nottingham Forest.
The 2-0 loss at Anfield means the fifth-placed Citizens are now 11 points behind the Premier League leaders, while they are just one above Wednesday’s opponents Forest who returned to winning ways by beating Ipswich 1-0 on Saturday.
Erling Haaland remains top of the scoring charts this season but has not netted in either of his last two games as he comes up another red-hot striker in Chris Wood, who scored his ninth of the season at the weekend.
City have won both home games against Forest since the Tricky Trees’ return to the Premier League by an aggregate score of 8-0 but with City out of sorts and the Reds enjoying a superb season so far, Wednesday’s encounter could unfold much differently.
