Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins was accompanied by his wife, Becky Cummins, in India for the ongoing IPL 2025. However, under Pat Cummins’ captaincy, Sunrisers Hyderabad has been struggling badly to repeat the magic of the last season and is on the verge of early elimination.
Amid SRH’s overwhelming campaign in the ongoing IPL 2025, Cummins’ wife Becky, has announced leaving India in the middle of the ongoing IPL 2025 season. She posted a photo from the airport with Cummins on her Instagram story, saying goodbye to India.

The post hints that she’s ending her IPL trip early, but leaves many wondering whether the Australian captain is also leaving the SRH in the middle of the tournament. However, it’s not clear if Cummins is going with her or staying back in India to lead the SRH in the ongoing IPL 2025.
Sunrisers Hyderabad suffer 5th defeat in the IPL 2025
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered its fifth defeat in the ongoing IPL 2025 after their four-wicket loss to Mumbai Indians in their latest game on April 17 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Cummins starred with the ball, but there were not enough runs on the board to defend against the MI.
SRH managed to post 162/5 on the board, thanks to Abhishek Sharma’s 40 and Heinrich Klaasen’s 37 against the MI. Will Jacks finished with 2/14 in his 3 overs against the SRH at the Wankhede Stadium. Later, Mumbai chased down the target in 18.1 overs to record their third win of the ongoing season.
How can SRH still qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs?
Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently placed 9th on the IPL 2025 points table with only two wins from seven matches. Their net run rate is also a big concern at -1.217. However, SRH’s IPL 2025 playoff hopes are still alive, but the road ahead won’t be easy for Cummins’ team.
To stay in the race, SRH will need to win at least five of their remaining seven games. If they manage to grab six victories, a playoff spot would almost be certain. Winning all seven could even push them into the top two. But if SRH loses more than three matches from here, their season will be over.

I thought we had all our bases covered, but…: Pat Cummins on SRH’s performance
After SRH’s loss to MI, Cummins said in the post-match press conference, “It wasn’t the easiest wicket. A few runs short, we would have liked a couple more with the bat. Tricky wicket, when you come here you expect it to be really fluent and fast; it just wasn’t that. They bowled really well and shut down a lot of our hitting areas. I thought we had all our bases covered, but with 160, you feel like you are a little bit short.”
The SRH captain added, “We gave it a good crack with the ball. We thought we needed wickets; we had plenty of death bowling; we knew the impact player would bowl 1-2 overs; that’s why we went with Rahul. You have got to play well away from home to make the final. Unfortunately, it hasn’t clicked so far this season. We have a short break, and we go again.”
