The Gujarat Titans (GT) star batsman Jos Buttler has hailed his teammate Sai Sudharsan for his brilliant batting performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Jos Buttler said that the day he saw Sai Sudharsan bat in the nets, he was absolutely blown away by the talent that the young Indian batsman possesses.

Sai Sudharsan in red-hot form in IPL 2025
Sudharsan has emerged as the top batsman for the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He has scored runs consistently for his team, and his strike rate has also been pretty good.
In his first two matches of the tournament, Sai Sudharsan registered back-to-back half-centuries before falling for 49 runs in the next game.
His only proper failure came against Sunrisers Hyderabad as he scored 5 runs. Sai Sudharsan bounced back from the poor performance quickly and slammed 82, 56, and 36 runs in the next three matches.
In the ongoing game against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Sai Sudharsan scored 52 runs. Currently, he is sitting at the top of the Orange Cap list with 417 runs in his bag at an average of 52.13 and a strike rate of 152.18.

Speaking to broadcasters ahead of the KKR vs GT clash, Jos Buttler said that he always tries to remain not-out while chasing the scores in T20 cricket. He said:
“(On that match-winning knock against DC) I always try to see myself not out till the end and work back from there to the present moment. There were crucial partnerships as well. With Sherfane, we got going well, complementing each other really well. We sort of imagined being not out till the end and working back to what you need to do at the present moment.”
While talking about Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler said that the young batter has got an unbelievable work ethic and dedication. He stated:
“From day one, watching him (Sai Sudharsan) bat in the nets, I was blown away by his talent. He has an unbelievable work ethic and dedication, and he’s getting the results as well. Very classical player. Hits the ball really hard. There’s not a lot that can go wrong for him, as it looks like, with the way he plays. He’s been very consistent this season and yeah, we need him to get going.”

The main reason behind the success of the Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2025 has been the performance of the top three batters.
Talking about this, Jos Buttler stated that they have spoken about building big partnerships and making sure that one batter among the top three batters remains unbeaten till the end. He stated:
“We have spoken a lot about building those partnerships and assessing conditions, and if one guy can be there till the end, that’s good as well. But in T20 cricket, you need to take risks. You need to, you know, push the game at certain points. It’s not like it will work out always, but you have guys in some good form who can take the game deep.
“There’s a little golfing crew. Matthew Wade, Ashish Nehra, the coach. It’s nice and obviously, a new team for me. Very nice environment and quite relaxed. So, we have got a good thing going at the moment.”
