Chase Ross has been in scintillating form for Marquette this season, and the junior has been likened to one of the NBA’s cornerstones in the aftermath of another standout display.
Golden Eagles Guard Chase Ross Likened to LeBron James
Chase Ross is undoubtedly being eyed as an early 2026 NBA Draft prospect, and his surprise return to action after rolling his ankle against Iowa State was a stark reminder of his basketball IQ.
Although the weekend’s win over the Wisconsin Badgers was headlined by Kam Jones – who topped Marquette’s stats with 32 points, six assists, and four steals on 12-for-21 shooting from the field – their chief points scorer was full of praise for teammate Ross.
Along with 12 points, Ross was integral around the rim after snatching eight rebounds while also connecting on three assists.
Despite being listed as questionable ahead of the game, Ross persevered to play 35 minutes as the Golden Eagles stormed to an eventual 14-point margin of victory.

Speaking after Saturday’s game, Jones was full of adoration for his teammate, saying: “Chase is Chase.
“He thinks I’m playing, but some of the stuff he do with his body, I tell him he’s the closest thing to Bron (LeBron James).”
“Just his body, how violent he is, and how he throws his body around and how strong and fast, how quick of a twitch he has. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Away from Jones and Ross, Marquette’s supporting cast also returned to form after the loss against Iowa State. In particular, David Joplin, who had 13 points, two rebounds, and two steals on 6-for-13 shooting from the field.
The Shaka Smart-led Golden Eagles are currently occupying top spot in the NCAAB Big East after Saturday’s victory stretched their season record to an impressive 9-for-1.
