Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni had a great time with the gloves behind the stumps in the ongoing game against Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams is underway at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
MS Dhoni, as always, was lightning quick behind the stumps as he came up with brilliant glove work against the Lucknow Super Giants. The keeper-batter took some brilliant takes behind the stumps and also came up with two brilliant dismissals to put his team at the top.

After a quick stumping of Ayush Badoni, MS Dhoni produced a brilliant run out to remove Lucknow Super Giants hitter Abdul Samad, who was looking good in touch. It was during the second ball of the last over when Matheesha Pathirana was bowling to Abdul Samad.
Matheesha Pathirana bowled a leg-side wide, and Rishabh Pant, who was at the non-striker’s end, called his partner through for a quick single. Samad was a bit late to react and was found inches short of his crease. MS Dhoni then oozed his class behind the stumps to send the batter packing.
MS Dhoni was smart enough to target the non-striker’s end there. He saw that Pant was almost halfway there and gently tossed the ball with an underarm throw to the bowler’s end and ended up hitting the bullseye.

Abdul Samad played an impactful knock of 20 runs off 11 balls
Abdul Samad played an impactful knock of 20 runs off 11 balls. The right-hander batted with a strike rate of over 181 and also hit two sixes during his stay at the crease. With the way he was playing, MS Dhoni surely saved some crucial runs for his team.
Lucknow Super Giants overall had a decent outing with the bat against Chennai Super Kings. Even though their in-form batters in Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram failed, they still managed to post a total of over 160 runs on the board.
Rishabh Pant was the top run-getter for Lucknow Super Giants
Skipper Rishabh Pant was the top run-getter for his team as he played a decent innings of 63 runs off 49 balls. Mitchell Marsh (30) also played a vital hand that powered the team to a fighting total. For Chennai Super Kings, Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers as he picked two wickets and returned with the figures of 2/24.
Chennai Super Kings would be eager to chase the target as they have been having tough outings in the league. The MS Dhoni-led side is reeling at the bottom half of the table. They have managed just one win in the league so far and that came against Mumbai Indians in their opening game.
