A Manchester United player who earns over £18 million a year is keen to leave Old Trafford and join a huge club in Europe, according to a recent report.
Man Utd transfer news
The January transfer window is now officially over, which may be seen as a good thing by United and Ruben Amorim, as the Premier League side were always going to struggle to make a big impact in the market due to PSR.

As the transfer window is now closed, Man Utd are turning their attentions to securing the long-term future of a key player.
Only a few days of it being shut, and the Red Devils are already putting plans in place ahead of the summer transfer window. It’s been reported that United are keen to tie Kobbie Mainoo down to a new contract. The club are prioritising giving the midfielder a new contract, with Amorim also pushing for both parties to find an agreement, as he’s seen as an important figure in his plans.
United are aware of rewarding his fine rise into the first team and the impact he has made on the international stage. Mainoo is keen on seeing his wage increase from £20,000 a week to £200,000 a week at Old Trafford.
As well as working on a new contract for Mainoo, United also had scouts taking a fresh look at Chris Rigg in Sunderland’s game against Middlesbrough on Monday night.
Old Trafford scouts have already watched Rigg in action for Sunderland, but they wanted to take another look as they are among the teams interested in securing his signature in 2025.
Man Utd star keen to leave and join 16-time league winners
But while the focus may be moving towards the summer, United may still have transfer business to deal with now, as according to Turkish outlet A Spor, Casemiro is keen to leave Man United and join Besiktas.
The report states that Besiktas, who are currently managed by former United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær, have placed the Brazil international at the top of their transfer wishlist. The Turkish outfit have stepped up their efforts to sign the player, as they see his arrival as an important transfer, as he can add experience and leadership to their team. It goes on to add that Casemiro himself is keen on joining the Turkish giants, whose 16 league titles in Turkey sit behind only Galatasaray (24) and Fenerbahce (19).
It is Solskjaer who has tasked Besiktas with signing Casemiro, and it is being reported that the club has already reached an agreement in principle with the player, as their transfer window is open until next week. A move for the 32-year-old would end his two-and-a-half-year stay at Old Trafford, during which he has won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
Casemiro, who earns £18.2 million a year at United, is under contract until 2026, so this would be an ideal time for him to leave the Red Devils, as the club can still get a decent fee for the player. The Brazilian has fallen down the pecking order under Amorim this season, featuring in just two of the last 11 league games. Toby Collyer’s rise into the first team fold has pushed Casemiro further away from any game time, so United could be open to doing a deal with their former manager.
