Match Preview for Liverpool v Paris Saint-Germain
Liverpool will hope to build on their smash-and-grab win over Paris Saint-Germain last week and secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
A magnificent display from Reds goalkeeper Alisson and a late strike from substitute Harvey Elliott saw Liverpool emerge with a 1-0 win in the Parc des Princes despite spending virtually the entire 90 minutes on the back foot.
PSG boss Luis Enrique is hoping for a repeat of his side’s first-leg display and, speaking after their weekend win over Rennes, believes they will be a dangerous proposition at Anfield.
He said: “I think we’ll be in the best possible shape for the Liverpool game. We’ve got nothing to lose. Our only objective is victory and that’s what we’re going for.
“Football allows for surprises; it is true that we were down and sad after the [first-leg] game but as we have analysed the game and after beating Rennes, which is a difficult team, it makes us hopeful.
“I repeat, we have nothing to lose, which makes us a more dangerous team than we usually are.”
PSG will certainly be a threat on the break due to the pace of Bradley Barcola, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele and it will be fascinating to see how Arne Slot sets up his side on home soil.

Liverpool showed an initial hangover from their win in the French capital when they played Southampton at the weekend, trailing 1-0 at half-time to the Premier League’s rock-bottom club.
But a much-improved second-half display saw them cruise to a 3-1 win thanks to a Darwin Nunez goal and two penalties from Mohamed Salah.
Scotland full-back Andy Robertson was sent on at the break to improve the home side and he knows they will have to move up another level against the Ligue 1 champions.
Robertson said: “It’s going to be a tough game. They showed how good they can be, an exceptional team – probably the best we have played this season.
“We have got the lead, which is important, but we can obviously play better than we did on Wednesday, that’s clear and we will have to play better as we can’t rely on Alisson playing the game of his life every game.
“They were excellent. The crowd was up, it was a really big game for them and their fans when another big team comes in the Champions League. Since they’ve had the big investment it is clear their aim is to win the Champions League so all that was factored in.
“But we can play a lot better, we know that. I thought they played really well but I thought the defence and goalie stood up when they had to and kept a clean sheet, which not many teams do in that stadium.”
