Springbok captain Siya Kolisi is investigating the possibility of leaving the Sharks to return to the DHL Stormers.
This is according to a Netwerk24 report which claims Kolisi may dump the Sharks for a move back to Cape Town, where he made his professional debut in 2012.
In addition to what already constitutes a potential blockbuster switch for the inspirational 84-Test Bok skipper, such a move would teeter on the incendiary given Kolisi is less than four months into his return to the Durbanites, who reportedly paid an exorbitant R18-million fee to make possible his early release from Top 14 club Racing 92.
His motivation for tracing his steps back to Cape Town is believed to be related to wanting to be based closer to his children, following the news in October of his and wife Rachel’s intention to file for a divorce.
The report claims that Kolisi and the Stormers are already in talks, though it is understood any deal would be subject to the 33-year-old loose forward accepting a reduction in his current salary.
