Boston Celtics star Jrue Holiday says he would fight Jake Paul in the boxing ring – but only if he was offered $50 million.

Jrue Holiday tells Jake Paul bring it on…but only for the right price

Holiday, a two-time NBA champion with the Celtics in June and the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021, appeared on Podcast P with Paul George when the question was put to him – would you fight Jake Paul?

The 34-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the league, admitted he would be open to fighting Paul for the right payday – named at a whopping $50 million.

In April, Holiday signed a four-year, $135 million extension with the Celtics so he certainly doesn’t need the money. But this would be one hell of a spectacle if they can pull it off.

“$50 million? That really put things into perspective. I’ll make it look realistic…that last [Mike Tyson] fight, I don’t know nothing about nothing, but I could do that. We could pump it up a little bit, I could take him through my whole training camp and all that.

Once we get up there, Netflix will start messing up, so you can’t really see a lot of the fight. Now I’ll swing one time and he can hit me. Cool. $50 million [secured].”

Paul’s ascension within the boxing scene has been quite something since his first professional fight in 2020, leading to bouts with former NBA player Nate Robinson, MMA stars Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva, as well as a legend of the sport in Mike Tyson most recently.

Holiday is certainly not one to back out of a fight and this would be an interesting match-up, where you’d have to fancy the Celtics star’s chances.

According to the best online betting sites, the two-time All-Star could become a three-time champion if the Celtics can justify market favouritism and go back-to-back this season.
