Sharjah Warriorz batter Jason Roy had a decent outing with the bat for his team in the match against Desert Vipers in the ILT20 2025. The game between the two teams took place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Wednesday (22nd January).
Jason Roy was the lone warrior for his team in the game against Desert Vipers. The England National Cricket Team batter came in as a super sub for his team when the wickets were left tottering at the other hand. He made sure that he came up with a decent effort and gave his team something to fight with the ball.
During his innings, Jason Roy also had a nasty collision with his batting partner Harmeet Singh. It was during the 13th over of the innings, when on the 4th ball, the England batter played the back of a length outside off ball by Dan Lawrence towards the point. He took the first run quickly, wanting to take the second.
However, during the second run, he had a nasty collision with Harmeet Singh as both the batters ran into each other. Both Jason Roy and Singh quickly got up to make it back to the crease and then checked upon themselves.

Desert Vipers continued their golden form with the bat and ball in the ILT20
Coming to the match, the Desert Vipers continued their golden form with the bat and ball in the ILT20. Sharjah Warriorz had a horrible outing with the bat. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were left tottering at 30 for five. It was then when super Sub Jason Roy (30*) played a fighting hand for the team despite wickets falling at the other end.
Jason Roy’s fighting innings with the bat took past Sharjah Warriorz over 85 runs as they managed just 19 runs. For Desert Vipers, Mohammad Amir was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged a four-wicket haul.
Chasing the target, Desert Vipers came up with a staggering effort. Fakhar Zaman (71*) slammed a magical half-century and, along with Alex Hales (23*), added 95 runs together to take their team home. With this win, they almost sealed their place in the playoffs.
T20 cricket can be one-sided at times and hopefully we will correct it in a few days’ time – Tim Southee
Sharjah Warriorz skipper Tim Southee talked about the loss, admitting that it wasn’t their best effort. But he was hopeful that they would turn things around in the next game. Speaking after the game, he explained:
“They always hurt, when you are six for 30-odd it is always tough but the beauty of this competition is we have got a couple of days off, dust ourselves off and again meet these guys. T20 cricket can be one-sided at times and hopefully we will correct it in a few days’ time.
“When you have got 90 on the board, need to get early wickets but a couple of dangerous batters and you are as good as done after that.”
