The IPL governing council has reportedly called an emergency meeting to decide the fate of the ongoing IPL 2025 due to the mounting tension between India and Pakistan.
The development comes on the back of the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals getting called off. Both teams were playing at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Thursday (May 8) when the authorities called off the match and asked the fans to vacate the stadium immediately.
The game was called off after 10.1 overs of the Punjab Kings’ innings. Soon after the first delivery of the 11th over, one of the light towers at the stadium went off before the players were asked to leave the field. The BCCI soon released a statement, saying that the match was abandoned due to a “significant technical failure” at the HPCA Stadium.
