India become the team to hit the most sixes in an away Test series
In the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, the pitches prepared for the Test matches have been quite flat, helping the batters to score big runs.
So far, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Yashasvi Jaiswal have hit centuries for India. Gill and Pant are the top two run-getters in the series with 601 and 416 runs to their name.
The duo are also the top two six-hitters in the ongoing Test series, with Pant having smashed 15 maximums and Gill having 12 sixes to his name.
These exceptional performances from the batters have helped India create a world record and become the team with the most sixes in an away Test series.
Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant’s explosive display has helped him become India’s joint-second highest six-hitter along with Rohit Sharma (88 sixes), and he is now only behind Virender Sehwag’s tally of 90.
Also, Pant has created the world record for hitting the most sixes (36) against England in Test cricket history and surpassed the record of the legendary Sir Viv Richards (34).

Wasim Jaffer, however, was mighty impressed with the performance of Pant and took to X to praise him.
“Such a shame it ended in a run out but really important partnership in the context of the game. Great display of grit and determination while battling the pain from @RishabhPant17 #ENGvIND,” the former India batter Wasim Jaffer wrote on X.

Also, the former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar hailed KL Rahul for his terrific knock of 100 runs off 177 balls.
“Finally this very likeable & class cricketer comes of age. Carries his form from one Test to the other. 2 hundreds now in 3 Tests! Pity about the immediate dismissal after. But overall so far this seriesKL! #KLRahul,” former India National Cricket Team batter Sanjay Manjrekar wrote on X.
