Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fast bowler Harshit Rana didn’t have a great outing with the ball in the opening IPL 2025 game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The match between the two teams took place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday (22nd March).
Harshit Rana, who has had a great few months, didn’t have the kind of start he would’ve wanted to the IPL 2025. After KKR posted a total of 174 runs on the board, it was expected that the defending champions would come up with a fighting effort with the ball.

Harshit Rana was taken for a lot of runs by Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar
Rana was expected to play a vital role for his team, but he went for runs. The fast bowler had a decent start in his first over, but after that, nothing went his way as Royal Challengers Bengaluru batters, especially Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar, slammed him all over the park.
With Harshit Rana going for runs, he was extremely frustrated with himself and this was evident during the 15th over when he fumed at Rinku Singh. It happened when the batter did misfield on the ground and the ball went for a four.
On the 5th ball of the over, Harshit Rana bowled a slower-ball off-cutter full outside off to Rajat Patidar. The RCB skipper got forward to drive and played it towards the backward point area, where Rinku Singh was stationed. The ball went to his right and it was certain that it would be a dot ball.
Rinku Singh attempted to stop the ball with his right hand but couldn’t as he allowed it to slip away. The ball raced away for a four but what caught the attention of many was the reaction of Harshit Rana. The pacer was seen fuming at the fielder as he shook his head in disappointment before brutally shouting at Rinku.
