Ravindra Jadeja’s playful exchange with the umpire
The moment took place before the lunch of Day 5 when the umpire allowed India to replace the ball which seems likely to be unfit due to damage. When the umpire finally gave his nod to change the ball Jadeja appeared excited, hoping to exploit the new ball to break England’s openers.
He playfully showed a fist to the umpire to express his excitement, and the latter responded with a smile and a tap on Jadeja’s back. The video quickly went viral on social media, where fans applauded his gesture, saying it gave them something to cheer about.

England in driving seat on the Day 5 of Headingley Test
Chasing a mammoth total of 371 runs, the English openers started brilliantly on the final day. After carefully surviving the initial hour—when the ball was offering significant help to the bowlers—they accelerated at the right time. By lunch, the English openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett had stitched together a phenomenal 117-run partnership in quick time. With a strong batting lineup still to come, the hosts seemed to be in the driver’s seat.
For the bowling side, the story remained the same as in the first innings. Apart from Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, the rest of the bowlers once again seemed to be missing the mark in Leeds with poor bowling. Prasidh Krishna was expensive once again, conceding 38 runs in just 6 overs. Although the team created a few chances in the first session, with several deliveries beating the outside edge, both the bowling and fielding efforts have been sub-par.
