Team India continued their impressive run in the ongoing five-match T20I series against England Women, claiming a comprehensive 6-wicket win in the fourth T20I at The Oval. With this victory, India took an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series, having already won the first two matches.
While the game featured strong batting performances from Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, it was Radha Yadav‘s sensational diving catch to dismiss Sophia Dunkley that left fans and players alike stunned. Her athleticism and presence of mind turned out to be one of the key moments in the match.
Radha Yadav’s fielding brilliance gets rid of Sophia Dunkley
The defining moment of the match came during the powerplay, when England were trying to rebuild after losing an early wicket. Dunkley tried to take on Deepti Sharma but fell victim to some clever bowling and even better fielding.
Deepti, reading Dunkley’s intent, held the ball back and drifted it away from the right-hander. Dunkley threw her bat at it, only to get a thick edge that flew toward backward point. Radha, stationed there, sprinted forward, timed her slide to perfection, and completed an extraordinary low catch with both hands — just inches from the turf. The effort not only dismissed Dunkley but also triggered a collapse in England’s innings, which they never really recovered from.

India seal series with comfortable chase
In response to England’s modest total of 126, the Indian openers made sure there were no early jitters. Mandhana and Shafali took the attack to the English bowlers, adding a brisk 59-run partnership. Even after their departure, the momentum continued with captain Harmanpreet Kaur playing a composed knock, and Jemimah Rodrigues finishing things off with elegance.
India’s top and middle order looked in complete control, chasing down the target in just 17 overs and stamping their authority in the series.
With the series already in the bag, India will look to finish on a high in the fifth and final T20I, scheduled to be played on July 12 at Edgbaston in Birmingham. England, on the other hand, will aim to end the series with a consolation win and avoid a 4-1 scoreline.
