The Diamondbacks announced that closer Shelby Miller has gone on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to July 6, with a forearm strain. Arizona recalled rookie righty Juan Morillo to step into the vacated bullpen spot.
It’s the latest hit to the D-Backs bullpen, one that seems likely to have ramifications for the trade market. The D-Backs have yet to provide a timetable for Miller’s return, but he’ll be out until at least July 21. A forearm injury certainly threatens to sideline him beyond a minimal stint. There’s not a ton of leeway for him to make it back prior to the July 31 deadline.
More to come.
