Match Preview

Sporting CP go into their first Champions League game without Ruben Amorim when they host Arsenal tomorrow.

Amorim’s final home game in charge before departing for Manchester United saw his side hammer Manchester City 4-1 before the international break with Sweden striker Viktor Gyokeres netting a hat-trick.

New boss Joao Pereira oversaw a 6-0 win over Amarante in the Taco de Portugal on Friday night but Arsenal will present a much stiffer challenge.

The Gunners got back to winning ways after a three-match winless run on Saturday when they eased past Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the Premier League.

They sit 12th in the Champions League table and need a win to reignite their top-eight hopes after losing to Inter last time out.

Sporting are second having won three and drawn one of their first four games.
