Dan du Plessis should be back in the Stormers midfield on Saturday despite being hospitalised last week.
The 25-year-old centre has not played since late November due to a knee injury, but that’s not why he was in doubt for the north-south Vodacom URC derby against the Vodacom Bulls at Cape Town Stadium.
According to Netwerk24, Du Plessis spent a few days on a drip in hospital last week because of an E. coli infection that he is suspected to have contracted during a swimming session in Camps Bay.
But he has since recovered and is expected to make his rugby return this week.
