Brentford have signed Fiorentina defender Michael Kayode on loan and insist that forward Yoane Wissa will not be leaving the club this month.
Wissa, 28, recently became the club’s leading scorer in the Premier League and has scored 41 goals in total since arriving from Lorient in 2021.
He was linked with a move to Nottingham Forest earlier this week but manager Thomas Frank can’t see any transfer developing.
He said: “It’s good with all these rumours, I love the transfer window.
“There’s a lot of rumours, for me again, he’s a Brentford player and in my opinion Wissa is not for sale, he’s been our leading number nine, he’s been fantastic.
“I cannot see why we should sell him.”
Kayode, 20, is a versatile player who can play at full-back or in the centre of defence and Frank is happy to get his man.

He added: “We really like him, are very happy that we managed to sign him to give us more depth in the full-back positions. I think he’s very talented, a fantastic physical package.
“He has good abilities to keep going forward. Very good defensively. Of course, he is young and needs to be developed. He hasn’t played much this season but last season he more or less played a full season at Fiorentina.”
