Melbourne Stars batter Ben Duckett, who was unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, set the stage on fire with the bat in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 match against Sydney Sixers. The game between the two teams is taking place at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney on Thursday (26th December).

England National Cricket Team batter Ben Duckett came up with the rollicking effort for Melbourne Stars and put his team in the dominating position. The opening batter looked solid right from the start and put pressure on the bowlers of Sydney Sixers, taking his team off to a flying start.

Ben Duckett’s best came in the fourth over the innings when he slammed six consecutive fours

Duckett’s best came in the fourth over the innings when he slammed six consecutive fours against Sydney Sixers spinner Akeal Hosein, who is the No.1 ranked T20I bowler. The batter brought his brutal best and entertained the crowd big time with his blazing batting in the 11th match of the BBL 2024-25.

Duckett started the over with the boundary over mid-wicket. Akeal Hosein bowled a shortish delivery to which the batter rocked back and pulled to hit a four. On the next ball, he got lucky as the ball caught the edge and went for a boundary.

The spinner bowled a shortish delivery outside off stump, to which Duckett looked to cut late and hard. The ball caught the thick edge which flew through the vacant slip region and went for the boundary, putting pressure on the bowler.

On the third ball, Akeal Hosein bowled a delivery that was out. Duckett adjusted for the line and swung it as he powered the pull over mid-wicket to complete a hat-trick of fours in the over.

The same result unfolded on the fourth ball as well and Ben Duckett brought up the reverse sweep on the fourth ball. Sydney Sixers adjusted the off-side field but the batter took his position and smacked this fullish delivery over backward point.

On the 5th ball, Duckett again came up with the reverse sweep but this time it was finer, more towards third man. The England National Cricket Team batter then made sure he ended the over on high as he slammed another boundary, completing six fours.

Akeal Hosein came over the wicket and tried to slow it down but Ben Duckett was smart enough to adjust his bat swing and delayed the lofted drive. He timed the ball to perfection and hit 6th four of the over.
