The legendary batter said that the Rajasthan Royals were lifted by the youngster’s fearless performance during the match against the Gujarat Titans (GT).
Vaibhav Suryavanshi made headlines by scoring a record-breaking IPL century at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 28. The left-handed batter reached his hundred in just 35 balls—the fastest ever by an Indian in IPL history. He scored 101 runs off just 38 balls as RR chased down the 210-run target.

My Advice Is to Keep Falling in Love with the Game – Matthew Hayden
Matthew Hayden shared some advice for Vaibhav Suryavanshi, adding that he should enjoy the game above all. He urged the teenager to stay passionate about cricket, and success will follow. Hayden pointed out the ups and downs in the sport.
“We just hope that he is having the fun, the rest will follow. My advice is to keep falling in love with the game. Sports is about developing the character. It’s very hard sport. Just after scoring a century, he got a duck. That’s sport, you have to keep finding ways to improve, and most importantly, the game challenges you. It is about sticking at it,” Hayden added.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Dismissed for a Duck Against Mumbai Indians
Just days after his century, Vaibhav Suryavanshi faced a harsh reality check in their next outing. The 14-year-old failed to score against Mumbai Indians (MI), falling for a second-ball duck to pacer Deepak Chahar.
Chasing a steep 218-run target, Suryavanshi tried to take an aggressive route early but misjudged the delivery and was dismissed without troubling the scorers. His wicket triggered a collapse in the Rajasthan lineup, as they were bundled out for just 117.
Rajasthan Royals were officially knocked out of playoff contention, becoming the second team after Chennai Super Kings (CSK). They had been one of the stronger teams in recent IPL cycles, featuring in the playoffs twice and finishing as runners-up in 2022.
The Royals have struggled this season and continue to wait for their second IPL title since their 2008 triumph. RR will now aim to end their campaign on a high. They will play their next match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on Sunday, May 4.
