Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj recently addressed rumours linking him with Zanai Bhosle, the grand-daughter of legendary singer Asha Bhosle. Speculations arose after a picture of the two went viral on social media, sparking dating rumours between the pacer and the aspiring artist.
The buzz started after Zanai celebrated her 23rd birthday with a party in Bandra, Mumbai. Siraj was among the attendees, and photos from the event showed the two sharing smiles and engaging in friendly conversations. These images quickly made rounds online, fuelling speculation about a possible relationship.
Zanai clears the air regarding dating rumours
Amid the swirling rumours, Janai took to Instagram to clarify the nature of their bond. Sharing a picture with Siraj on her Instagram Story, she wrote, “Mere pyaare bhai” (My dear brother).
Siraj soon followed suit, posting his own Instagram Story with a heartfelt caption: “Meri behen ke jaisi koi behna nahin. Bina iske kahin bhi mujhe rehna nahin. Jaise hai chaand sitaaron mein, meri behna hai ek hazaaro mein,” (No is like my sister, I don’t want to live without her. Just like the moon and stars, my sister is one of a kind).
These posts made it clear that their relationship is purely platonic, dispelling any notions of a romantic link. The duo shares a sibling-like bond, and the dating rumours have been confirmed as baseless.

Zanai Bhosle’s rising career, Siraj’s focus on cricket
Zanai, an emerging actress, is set to appear in the upcoming film The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Her role in the movie has already generated excitement among fans, and her professional commitments are taking center stage. Despite her focus on acting, the rumours surrounding her connection with Siraj briefly brought her into the media spotlight.
On the other hand, Siraj remains dedicated to his cricketing career. While he hasn’t been included in the Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the pacer is committed to improving his skills. Indian captain Rohit Sharma explained that Siraj’s exclusion was due to his lack of effectiveness with the older ball.
Currently practicing with older red balls in his hometown Hyderabad, Siraj is working on honing his reverse swing abilities. The star bowler aims to refine his game and ensure his readiness for future opportunities in international cricket.
