Tajinder Singh had just walked in to bat, and facing the fiery Haris Rauf is never easy, especially when he is bowling at full pace. The Pakistani speedster fired a sharp delivery onto Tajinder’s pads and quickly turned around to appeal for LBW.

As the appeal was turned down, the ball rolled into Rauf’s path, prompting him to scoop it up and prepare for a throw, possibly aiming to catch Tajinder off-guard if he had strayed from the crease. But as the San Francisco Unicorns bowler turned, he found the MI New York batter standing directly in his path, hands up and eyes wide, bracing for a possible throw.

In the heat of the moment, Rauf jokingly mimicked a throw but held back at the last second. The tension immediately melted into laughter as both players shared a light-hearted chuckle over the situation during the MLC 2025 game in California.

Xavier Bartlett powers San Francisco Unicorns to third straight win in MLC 2025
Speaking about the game, after being invited to bat first, MI New York posted 182/7 in their 20 overs thanks to Quinton de Kock’s quickfire 63 runs off 38 balls, studded with five boundaries and four sixes against the San Francisco Unicorns in the Major League Cricket 2025 clash.
Kieron Pollard also contributed 30 runs, while Carmi Le Roux, Haris Rauf, and Hassan Khan each scalped two wickets for the Unicorns against the MI New York. Chasing 183 runs, the San Francisco Unicorns were in deep trouble at 24/3 and then 42/4.

But Hassan Khan (43) and Tim Seifert (33) sparked a fightback before Xavier Bartlett stole the show with his stunning knock of an unbeaten 59 runs off 25 balls. Staying calm under pressure, Bartlett hit his maiden T20 fifty, and even after Corey Anderson fell for 9, he kept going strong.

Eventually, Bartlett finished the game off with a six, as the San Francisco Unicorns crushed MI New York by three wickets to record their third straight win in the ongoing MLC 2025.
Corey Anderson said after the match, “Incredible, if you had told me before the start of the tournament we would take three wins from here and turn that into a fortress, I would take it any day. I will take this confidence into Dallas and the rest of the season. The stadium has been rocking, with people wearing orange and coming out and supporting us. We are extremely thankful to them. We will have to wait till next year to go again in front of them.”
