With a 114-109 win vs. the Magic on Tuesday, the Milwaukee Bucks are 13-11 in 2024-25. The Bucks started the season 2-8 but have bounced back nicely over the last month. Milwaukee is sixth in the Eastern Conference through their first 24 games. The win on Tuesday night made the Bucks 11-3 in their last 14 games.
That’s in large part due to their two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo playing at an All-NBA level. His (32.7) points per game leads the NBA in 2024-25. The Bucks have found team chemistry in the last month and that’s translated to consistent wins. Credit is due to head coach Doc Rivers who was able to change the direction of the team after starting slow. We’ll see if Milwaukee can beat the Cavaliers on Friday. A team they’ve lost to twice this season by a combined three points.

When it comes to overall talent on the roster, the Bucks are top-heavy. They have two top-25 players in the NBA, Giannis Anteokounmpo and Damian Lillard. After that, there’s a significant drop off on the rest of the roster. Khris Middleton is dealing with injuries and is not the player he once was. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard average more than half of the team’s (113.4) points per game. Antetokounmpo has been playing partially well over his last nine contests.
The 30-year-old is averaging (36,4) points per game in his last nine played. Antetkounmpo is one of the hardest working players in the NBA and he takes pride in winning. The 2-8 start got to Giannis and that put a chip on his shoulder to carry Milwaukee over the last month. Damian Lillard is 10th in scoring at (25.8) points per game and 10th in assists with (7.6) per contest. Lillard is thriving in Milwaukee not having to be the #1 option on offense. He’s still capable of going to 30+ points each game. Milwaukee’s offense runs through the two-man game between Giannis Antetokoumnpo and himself. When the duo is playing at a high level, the Bucks have a strong chance to win.
