
India skipper Rohit Sharma and vice-captain Shubman Gill are putting hard yards ahead of the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against New Zealand. As per the reports in the Times of India, it is learned that the duo had a separate practice session ahead of the scheduled training.
The stage is all set for the final of the ICC Champions 2025. India will be taking on New Zealand in the final of the tournament at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Sunday (9th March). With the match around the corner, the Rohit Sharma-led side has been sweating hard in the nets.

After having an intense session on Friday (7th March), the India team was scheduled to practice at the Dubai Stadium on Saturday (8th March) from 2:00 PM local time. However, skipper Rohit and Gill arrived late as they were involved in a training session at the ICC Academy way ahead of the other team members beginning their session.
When the team arrived at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai at the scheduled time, the notable absentees were Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. However, after some time, they joined the team as they were at the ICC Academy undergoing an extra round of practice.

Rohit and Gill were practising at the ICC Academy under the observation of batting coach Sitanshu Kotak and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. This might be because of the poor scores that they have registered in the last few games in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Rohit has been having starts but has been failing to convert them as his aggressive approach has been the reason behind his downfall. The batter has been taking his team off a flying start, but his numbers haven’t been great, with 41 being the highest, which came against Bangladesh in the opening game.
Shubman Gill, on the other hand, started the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 on a high. He hit a magnificent century in the game against Bangladesh and followed it up with a 46-run knock against Pakistan. However, in the last two games he has failed, bagging low scores.
